SVA Film & Animation
FACULTY: Robert Haufrecht

Actor, Director

I am a long time aficionado of film, inspired by many of the "New Wave" European film directors of the late 50's and 60's.

Although I have acted in numerous films, my background is both as an actor and director in theater. Among plays directed: Sartre’s No Exit, Saroyan’s Hello Out There, Sam Shepherd’s Cowboy Mouth and many original plays, including plays written by Actor Studio member Mark Borkowski: Within The Skins of Saints, The Noisemakers and Don’t Listen To What It Sounds Like. Robert has also acted in Borkowski’s The Headhunter. I have performed, in English, in both Paris ( View from the Bridge) and Berlin (a holocaust play). He has been a director at the Actor Studio’s Playwrights/Directors Workshop working to develop new plays and a screenplay. My first short film, Subterranean Love, screened at numerous festivals, and Reeves Lehmann, Chairman of the Film & Animation Department, is the co-lead in the follow-up short, Subterranean Love (Ileana & Paul), currently being submitted to festivals.
