Every once in a while you meet someone who is so multi-talented that are in awe of their resilience and skill.
My colleague, Kristi Zea is such a person.
For a woman to go from costume designing on the Film Fame, to production designing on Silence of the Lambs, and Philadelphia, to directing for HBO’s Domestic Dilemma, and being a wonderful, decent person is quite the feat for a woman in the movie business.
What a career: Demme, Scorsese, and a host of other directors… and a role model for all of us.
The poster is going up this week….I urge everyone to see her work, and the work of Elizabeth Murray, her subject.

Everybody Knows…. Elizabeth Murray is an intimate portrait of the groundbreaking artist Elizabeth Murray. This film explores the relationship between Murray’s family life and career, and reconsiders her place in contemporary art history. Verité footage, home videos and excerpts from her journals, voiced by Meryl Streep, tell of Murray’s internal struggles and incredible ambition. Exclusive interviews with art world luminaries provide the historical backdrop for the New York art scene. Directed by Academy Award nominee Kristi Zea.
This screening is free and open to the public. RSVPs are highly suggested — those who RSVP here will be permitted to enter first, at 6:15PM. Doors open to the general public at 6:45pm. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
