this week about his film Stations of the Elevated, and how it has recently reemerged after 34 years!

IMG_1039Here’s an optimistic note to all my unrecognized artist colleagues at SVA. My 1980 film, Stations of the Elevated, 34 years in obscurity after reaching all the way to the 1981 New York Film Festival, has suddenly re-emerged, and in a big way. Out of the blue, someone who has always loved the film, and is in a position to do something about it, secured the not-till-now music rights for a huge fee I couldn’t afford, and resurrected the film via a new HD picture and track (it was originally on 16mm). It had its gala premiere at BAMs big Harvey theater last Friday, and will follow with a week-long run and national tour in the Fall. I’m more than excited. The moral to my colleagues: if you live long enough things might happen (I’m 83). Let’s hear it for survival!
